We cut the diagonal grooves by hand and set two magnetic inserts into the inner band a detail a retired carpenter once asked us for. He never explained why. He just kept ordering them.

This is 99.99% pure copper, open-backed and adjustable to sit exactly where it feels right. People who work with their hands tend to find their way to copper. We’ve never had to explain it.
