Coil Copper Anklet

The spiral at the center of this piece is the same shape people have been carving into rock and pressing into metal for longer than anyone can trace. We made this one for the people who feel something when they see it - who put it on their ankle and find themselves looking down at it during the day.

The spiral is formed from a single continuous copper strip, coiled by hand from the center outward, then joined to the band which we shape separately and curve gently so it sits right against the ankle. People who wear copper at the ankle tell us their joints feel steadier - their knees, their feet, the parts that carry everything.

This is one of the last anklets we'll make before we close our workshop. We hope the spiral finds the ankle it belongs on.
